Ngorongoro Crater Day Trip
The Ngorongoro Crater, part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in northern Tanzania, is one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This vast volcanic caldera is home to thousands of animals, including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and the rare black rhino, offering excellent year-round game viewing in a unique and breathtaking landscape.
Itinerary
Your day begins with an early morning departure from Moshi or Arusha after breakfast, accompanied by a professional safari guide. Enjoy a scenic drive through the highlands toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, descend more than 600 meters into the crater for a half-day game drive across open plains, wetlands, and acacia woodland, where abundant wildlife provides incredible photographic opportunities. A picnic lunch is served at a designated site inside the crater, followed by additional game viewing in the afternoon. Later, ascend the crater rim and return to Moshi or Arusha in the evening.

This day trip includes round-trip transportation in a 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, services of a professional English-speaking driver-guide, all conservation and park entry fees, picnic lunch, and bottled drinking water during the safari.
